The Tate Modern and the British Museum house world-renowned collections, while areas like Shoreditch are famed for vibrant street art. George Town, a UNESCO World Heritage site, has gained recognition for its vibrant street art, much of which was initiated by Lithuanian artist Ernest Zacharevic. Recently, Asilah, a coastal gem in northern Morocco, has blossomed into a vibrant hub for art enthusiasts. The town’s transformation began in 1978 with the inception of the International Cultural Moussem of Asilah, founded by artist Mohamed Melehi and then-mayor Mohamed Benaïssa. This annual summer festival turns the whitewashed medina into an open-air gallery, showcasing murals by artists from around the globe. Beyond street art, the festival features concerts, lectures, and workshops, fostering cultural exchange and community engagement.
