It Just Got Easier to Visit Costa Rica

Costa Rica is among the most straightforward, welcoming countries to visit right now. Time for some good news. Now, visiting your possible expat destination is easier. Costa Rica has dropped requirements for mandatory travel insurance to enter the country, providing people have received two doses of approved COVID-19 vaccine.

As of August 1, 2021, fully vaccinated travelers against COVID-19 and minors under the age of 12 are no longer required to show proof of travel insurance before entry. Both doses must have been given at least 14 days before arrival in Costa Rica. U.S. travelers must present their “COVID-19 Vaccinated Record Card” as proof. Accepted vaccines include Moderna, Pfizer-BioNTech, AstraZeneca, and Johnson & Johnson.

Costa Rica will continue to require all tourists to complete the Health Pass form at least 72 hours before their trip.

Regardless of your stance on the vaccine, this is good news. Anytime a country reduces restrictions to visitors, the closer we come to blazing trails again.

Explore Costa Rica and fill your evenings by watching sunsets slip into the ocean. The sun’s final moments glitter on the water like diamonds while hues of orange, red, and purple bring life to the sky. You feel vibrant, yet a sense of calmness fills your heart as you settle down with the ocean view. It is the perfect time for rest after your hike through mystical cloud forests with monkeys and birds chattering overhead. And oh, their twittering conversations made more sense than the jungle back home.

Discover the reasons you should retire in Costa Rica and start planning your next escape to Central America.
