Top global experts in economics, business, real estate, law, and cryptocurrency gathered in Miami earlier this month to discuss the most pressing issues under the incoming U.S. presidential administration, and kept circling back to Americans’ growing interest in moving overseas.

Whatever the reason may be, if you’re one of the many people ready to take the plunge, we’ve gathered a handful of experts to give you the valuable insight and advice you need to make informed decisions on important areas like investments, taxes, currency exchange, second citizenship, real estate, and more.

Here are some of the highlights from President’s Week, with video interviews from some of the standout presenters.

Porter Stansberry, Independent investment adviser and founder of MarketWise, Porter & Co., and OneBlade

EA: “Do you have advice for anyone looking to move overseas right now?”

“Our core theory since the global financial crisis is a scenario I call ‘The End of America,’ which explains how America is losing its world reserve currency status. We’ve seen America lose its AAA rating, we’ve seen bitcoin emerge, we’ve seen gold more than doubling in value. There are a lot of signs that America is losing this key economic advantage. One good way of protecting yourself is using the dollar while it’s still strong to buy real estate in places where the currency is relatively weak. We help explain how it works and how to take advantage of it. Owning real estate in foreign countries is I believe one of the best forms of asset protection.”

Jamie Alleyne, Managing Partner Blue Marble Citizens, Inc.

EA: “What brings you to this year’s President’s Week conference?”

“This is my fifth year speaking at the conference on second citizenship, having a Plan B, having options, passport mobility. There are many reasons people seek a second citizenship. I’m here to share the information about the Caribbean options and how the landscape is changing about citizenship by investment and how the benefits for investors have increased…. The global landscape is changing – it’s no longer sufficient to just have a second citizenship, you need to have some legitimate ties to the country, and that benefits us as well. We want to invite legitimate investors who want to perhaps have a residence on the island or have vacations there. Just have a connection beyond citizenship.”

Mark Brantley, Premier of Nevis and Leader of the CCM party.

EA: “Tell me a little bit about yourself and what brings you to this week’s conference?”

“We offer one of the best lifestyles in the region – the quality of real estate and the quality of life. Low crime. Great school system, great health system, infrastructure. But we only have 51K people so we encourage people to move there…..Come first as a visitor and really get your feet in the sand and have a look around. ..Some people what they do is they have winter homes there.… I do feel the Caribbean is the most beautiful place in the world and Nevis is the most beautiful place in the Caribbean.”

Matheus Leite, Global real estate investor

EA: “Where would you say the most interesting place to purchase real estate is right now for anyone looking to move abroad?”

“If you’re looking to move abroad, go where you really feel connected—in terms of future, education, safety, whatever is the most important variable to you. But if you’re looking to invest in real estate, you don’t really need to like the place. I think right now it’s’ the Middle East, and Dubai.”

Joe Williams, Cofounder of Keller Williams Realty International, the largest real estate developer in the world.

EA: “If you were looking to move abroad right now, where might you go?”

“Good question. My wife and I love the British Virgin Islands. But there’s no question that from a financial, as well as from a security standpoint, I think [moving abroad] is coming into play.”
