Ideal for couples and honeymooners, this two-level villa offers ample interior space to relax and unwind in, including a compact but fully equipped kitchenette and seating area, and a bathroom with a rainfall shower.

Lopud 1483 is an extraordinary historic property located on the car-free Croatian island of Lopud. This meticulously restored 15th-century monastery, once inhabited by Franciscan monks, provides accommodation for up to 10 guests, and includes five bedrooms, all custom designed with unique artwork.

Mirrorcube, Sweden
One of the more aesthetically fascinating properties we’ve seen, Mirrorcube sits in the far north of Sweden, close to the Arctic Circle. Created by Treehotel, this “box clad in mirrored glass” is a roughly 13-feet cubed aluminum structure attached to a sturdy tree trunk some 20 feet off the ground. The mirrored exterior reflects the sky and surroundings, creating a slightly alien-looking camouflaged refuge.
To prevent birds from flying into the structure, the designers laminated the exterior glass with a transparent ultraviolet lining only visible to birds. The wood paneled interior accommodates two guests, and the windows provide a 360-degree view of the surrounding forest. Amenities include a living room, a double bed, a small bathroom with a toilet, and a roof terrace, which seems like an ideal place to get away from it all and contemplate the universe.
Berggasthaus Aescher, Switzerland
Touted as a place “where hermits, cavemen, and bears once lived,” this historic mountain cabin is perched at the edge of a cliff in the Swiss Alps. Built in the 19th century, this remarkable cabin originally served as a shelter for alpine farmers and travelers. Over the years, it has gained worldwide recognition for its unique location and stunning views of the breathtaking landscape thousands of feet below. It achieved next-level fame in 2015 when National Geographic featured it on the front cover of its bestselling book, Destinations of a Lifetime.
