Bringing Lacrosse to Colombia with Lotty Lawrence

Had you asked me during my university years whether I could see myself in the future living in Colombia, my ready answer would be, “Of course not.”

Lotty LawrenceI can only assume that this is what Lotty Lawrence must be thinking today. Lotty is the young British lady now charged with the awesome responsibility of bringing the sport of lacrosse to Colombia, setting up a league between private schools, and participating in international tournaments.

colombia-lax-trio_200x200Hers is an adventure that has taken her from teaching in Colombia's coffee region to coaching lacrosse in Bogota, then accompanying a team to the world championships in Denver, Colorado. It’s both heartwarming and exciting to hear of projects like this coming to Colombia and actually coming to fruition.

In this episode, we hear Lotty's very interesting story. We also discuss President Santos' inauguration, his administration's plans, and his plans for Colombia's future. Click here to listen to this episode of Colombia Calling with Richard McColl from Overseas Radio Network.
