It all started when I fell in love... I was a Sydney property developer and she was a stunning South Pacific beauty.

Flying over the Pacific Ocean I gazed out the window upon the magnificently turquoise Touma beach just before landing in the Port Vila airport in Vanuatu. Moments later I realised I was head-over-heels in love with Vanuatu, the hidden gem of the South Pacific.

I had flown there in 2010 exploring my own Plan B destination options.

As they always say, “Always have a Plan B” and “Never put all your eggs in the one basket”.

Well, I chose Vanuatu. And I never looked back.

Vanuatu not only turned out to be an absolutely gorgeous tropical (permanent) holiday destination but also an amazing place to do business. A stable, forward-thinking, pro-foreign-investor government paved the way and the clean tropical climate, stunning beaches and incredibly friendly people sealed the deal. No wonder it was voted one of the happiest countries on earth by the internationally renowned Happy Planet Index!

And since then I’ve been investing and actively promoting Vanuatu as the best and most promising foreign investment option and Plan B destination in the world.

She reciprocated my affection by appointing me the Vanuatu Trade Commissioner in Australasia for the period 2012-2015 and again for the period 2017-2019, an appointment I was honoured and humbled to accept.

I have experienced the highs and lows of what I call the birth of the new Vanuatu. During that period Vanuatu became a member in the world trade organisation and lifted itself off the grey list of struggling nations and onto the white list of most accepted nations in the world to do business with and in 2020 will also pro claim itself as the worlds truly first totally 100% organic nation in the world!
