Charlotte Tweed is the Editor for Escape Artist Insiders magazine. Graduating from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology with Honours and a 4.0 GPA, she studied Travel and Tourism—Charlotte has always had a love for and desire to travel. Her passion is writing and photography and she has a hunger to inspire others to travel more and for longer durations, for personal development, and to enrich lives.
Government restructuring propelled Charlotte toward her long-time calling to be a travel-based entrepreneur. With a background in healthcare administration, Charlotte decided cubicle life was no longer for her. Setting her heart on a travel business of her own, her and her husband, Darryl, sold almost everything they owned, put the rest in storage, and began travelling. They ventured to Texas, Egypt, Jordan, and numerous countries in Europe to discover a niche for her travel business and developed a new mindset along the way.
After a courageous six-month foray into long-term travel, Charlotte’s first book, Roam Free, was born. Charlotte loves the writing process and found writing her own book an educational and rewarding experience. Through collaboration with her publisher and editors, Charlotte’s unique voice has grown along with her creativity. Charlotte is a gifted photographer as well, capturing the essence of the places she travels to and the people she meets. She has a keen eye for depicting destinations in a distinctive way while expressing the story and relevant history of the location.
Charlotte began her expat journey on June 15, 2021, and chronicles her expat journey in the Escape Artist newsletter and magazine. She currently lives in Ajijic, Mexico with her husband, Darryl. Charlotte is a devoted wife and mother, an exploration pundit, and she loves to cook anything. Mornings are spent reading, writing, and enjoying her pool view while sipping a perfectly brewed cup of coffee.
