Mount Hartman Bay Estate: Luxurious Mount Hartman Bay Estate with infinity pool and private beach in Grenada

Mount Hartman Bay Estate, Grenada

Tucked away on the southern coast of this stunning Caribbean island, Mount Hartman Bay Estate (also known as “The Cave House”) is a sprawling, 30,000-square-foot, seven-bedroom mansion built into a hillside. With an indoor waterfall, four-bedroom beachfront guesthouse, infinity pool, private beach, speedboat, and helipad, the estate is straight out of a James Bond movie. Operating as a 12-room hotel (but “suitable for groups from 8 to 50”), guests can enjoy this luxurious getaway for $300 to $400 a night or rent the entire estate for $7,900 a day.

Escape House: Charming Escape House on Lake Perućac with stunning mountain views

Escape House on Lake Perucac, Bosnia & Herzegovina

This delightful houseboat, in Tara National Park on lovely Lake Perućac, is all about modern architecture, simple design, and location, location, location. While not huge in terms of square footage, Escape House gets great light, feels open and spacious, and accommodates up to 6. The ground floor features a cozy living room, fully equipped kitchen, bathroom, and terrace right on the water. The upstairs loft area has two double beds. But it’s the roof deck where you’ll probably spend most of your time, relaxing and taking in the stunning views of the lake and surrounding mountains. The large terrace covers the entire level and has a sun shade, comfy lounge chairs, and all necessary BBQ amenities.

Casa Tiny: Cozy Casa Tiny cabin surrounded by lush vegetation on the Pacific coast of Mexico

Casa Tiny, Mexico

Set in a secluded forest on the Pacific coast near Punta Pajaros, and just a 30-minute flight from Puerto Escondido, Casa Tiny has quickly established itself as one of the most sought-after reservations in Mexico. And for good reason. This compact cabin with the big presence is the perfect place to get away from it all (while still being near enough), whether it’s for a couple’s retreat or a solo trip to relax in the hammock. The one-bedroom mezzanine house features a pool, kitchenette, traditional pizza oven, and breakfast bar extending through French windows out onto the patio. Surrounded by lush vegetation and the soft sound of breaking waves, Casa Tiny will take you back to the basics without sacrificing the finer things. If you are able to get a reservation, two lucky guests can enjoy the intimacy and seclusion of Casa Tiny for only $170 a night.

Octopus House: Unique Octopus House in Bali with open-air elevator and rooftop pool

Octopus House, Bali

If you’re in the mood for a romantic getaway that really has to be experienced to be believed, Veluvana Bali should be high on your list. This boutique resort of unique, eco-friendly bamboo cabins nestled in Bali’s lush Sidemen Valley sits in a tropical rainforest beneath the towering Mount Agung, an active volcano. The design of each of the six distinct houses is inspired by local animals and takes advantage of an open space concept to connect the surrounding environment.

Cabin concepts include Snail House, Cobra House, and, our favorite Octopus House, which comes with breathtaking views of the rainforest, a private outdoor shower, and a rooftop swimming pool with an open-air elevator and a porthole window down to the bedroom. Octopus House, like all of Veluvana’s cabins and most of the furniture, was built by local artisans using  locally-sourced bamboo, adding an extra dash of authenticity.
