in September 2005. It is located on 8 acres in Corozal Town.
The school, which is associated with John Trummer, M.D., an American who
has practiced in Corozal for many years, and the Trummer Clinic (Bethesda
Medical Centre), was started by R. Shayne Pavlic, who earlier started an
offshore school in Nicaragua. His sister, Liesl Pavlic, M.D., and
father, Romeo Pavlic, M.D., are on the faculty. |

- The
Island of Curacao Netherlands Antilles has only one medical school, the
Saint Martinus University (SMU) Faculty of Medicine, and it is chartered
by the government of the Netherlands Antilles. The medical school started
operations in the year 2003 and already has several medical doctors working
in U.S. Hospitals. After taking and passing Step 1 of the USMLE (first
two years), students will have the choice of doing clinical rotations in
the U.S., Canada, the U.K., South Africa, Curaçao and the Netherlands. |
