Want to escape for a year? Want to write a book? Paint? This home is the perfect place for those desires. The home is in a small fisherman village with a few restaurants on the beach. The restaurants are a block or two from the house. You can get basics at the little stores and people come by the house selling breads, fruits, and vegetables. If you want seafood, just walk to the shore and buy directly from the fisherman as they return to shore. There is a larger town about 40 minutes away called Jipijapa where you can shop for things that are not available in Puerto Cayo. You can take the bus or a taxi. The bus is about $1.50 and taxi fare is around $10.00 to $15.00.
The house is located 4 hours from the airport in Guayaquil and taking a bus from there to Puerto Cayo costs around $6.00. Because we live in South Carolina, USA we will need the full rent in advance and will not lease for less than a six month term.
My husband is from Ecuador and will meet you there to help you for the first couple of days if necessary. For example, if you do not speak Spanish and need help getting there from the airport.
