the best searches on the internet. No frills, no hot java, just fast and
relevant search results. If you want to be found, submit your website to
Google.

- One of the best search engines - Gives relevant results rapidly,
provides a lot of features that allow the searcher to find additional resources
on the query entered.

Here - Their submission system is simple and very user friendly
- they have improved their listing system over the last year or so.
Worth submitting to. It is worth mentioning that what you cannot find on
other search engines can sometimes be found on HotBot.
Add Your Site to Lycos -

Here - What applies to AltaVista & Go Network applies equally
to Lycos. You have to learn how their spider reads your MetaTags.
To complicate matters, each search engine reads your metatags differently.
Lycos is difficult to appear on - but it does bring up relevant hits. It's
system is just different than that of AltaVista & Go Network.
It is defintely worth submitting to and it is a good search tool for finding
sites that don't appear on other engines.
Direct Hit Add URL - Click
Here - Direct Hit's award-winning technology provides highly relevant
results for any Internet search. By analyzing the activity of millions
of previous Internet searchers, Direct Hit determines the most relevant
sites for your search request. Comments: In terms of submissions note the
following; a website like EscapeArtist appears high up on searches relevant
to our venue, however, a new expatriate website would not get the same
high placement. Direct Hit analyzes the number of links to a website
and the number of hits it gets in determining placement. That is
good for us, but not so good for a new website. It is an excellent search
engine, but for new websites it may be a difficult submission.
Excite Add URL - Click
Here - Not easy to submit to, the submission form asks irrelevant
questions and has odd categories that are required for submission. Excite
doesn't have a category for itself. (i.e. no category for directories.)
It is also very difficult to appear on. It remains one of the best
engines on the internet, and is an important website to list your URL on.
Northern Light - Click
Here - Hey, we are really impressed with this search engine.
It is accurate and relevant. Northern Light pulls of a wide range of resources
each time you make a search. Definitely worth listing your website on and
definitely worth using for your searches. Finds lot's of websites the other
engines don't find.
All The Web Add URL - Click
Here - Several visitors to EscapeArtist have recommended
this search portal to us. It seems fairly quick, and it is fairly accurate.
It is well worth submitting to and well worth using as a search portal. |

Yahoo! Home Page - Click
Here - Once you figure out the Yahoo submission system it isn't
difficult to submit your sites to Yahoo. Their Search Engine is excellent!
It is database driven, and it helps you find what is on their massive index
quickly and categorically. When you go to Yahoo you find what you
want and you find it quickly. Note that once Yahoo lists you they are reluctant
to list you in other categories even if you have relevant information in
that category. They are doubtlessly swamped with submissions. Still,
everything evolves, and as a website evolves it would be nice if Yahoo
would list updated and new sections that are submitted. The judgements
made at Yahoo are human judgements and not spider or robot judgements.
Yahoo remains one of the very best directories on the internet for finding
information.

Here - You have to pay to be listed. Most sites won't pay
to be listed. Therefore Go To.com doesn't list most sites.
