Nicaragua's
“other” coast: A long term investment play: the last undiscovered
islands in the Caribbean - Click
Here - Nicaragua's "other coast" (the Caribbean) has long been the
poor stepchild of this part of the world. Its little Caribbean cays fall
south of those of Honduras, Belize & Florida - south, and, to date,
off the typical traveler's radar screen. We believe this will change, though.
For the past few decades, tourist development in this part of the world
has made its way predictably south from Florida's cays. This southward
trend will continue, over the coming decade, we predict, to include Nicaragua's
outlying Corn Islands.

Nicaragua
update: More tourists & greater moneymaking opportunities than ever
before - Click
Here - "When I tell people that my favorite country in Central America
is Nicaragua, they think I've got a screw loose." - A serious case
of bad press - "Nicaragua remains one of the most misunderstood nations
in the world. This country is not in the midst of a civil war...not
a Communist state...and not a "miserable hell hole" as one acquaintance
of mine recently suggested. I was just there, for the third time in as
many years. My impression? This place is more lovely and, more importantly,
shows more promise and offers greater opportunity than ever before. by

Gourmet
delights: Eating and drinking in la France profonde - Click
Here - "We recently returned from the Château d’Ouzilly and environs,
where we ate enough foie gras and drank enough wine to add a collective
20 pounds to our waistlines last year. Ah…but it was well worth it.
I'll be escorting another group of IL readers to the château June
25 July 2. I hope you'll join us."
New Year's
in Madrid: Red underwear, a dozen grapes and great $25.00 meals - Click
Here - Spanish police seized two vans from the Basque separatist ETA
that were full of explosives reportedly headed for the year 2000 celebrations
in Madrid. They also swiped 17 bottles of sparkling wine from my party
as we entered the capital's Puerta del Sol in the first hour of the year

A crime
free Mediterranean island where a three bedroom house can cost less than
$100,000 - Click
Here - Malta is a European island retreat exotically spiced with a
Moorish flavor. It's a Mediterranean island of just 350,000 people that
has a lot to offer, not least of which is a warm climate. Living
costs are low, there are juicy tax concessions, and almost everybody speaks
English. You won't find many places where it's so easy to integrate into
local society. Property prices aren't bargain-basement, but you'll
find some good deals…if you know where to look. by Steenie Harvey
Life in
Amsterdam: On vases, first drinks & decorated bikes - Click
Here - I find that it's better to let people get their fascination
with Amsterdam's seedier side out of their system right away. After a few
hours of red light tourism, during which they stare at bored, scantily
clad women sitting beneath red lights, they're ready for something new.
Then I get the chance to show them what Amsterdam is really like. You see,
there's a lot more to the Netherlands and the Dutch people than prostitutes
& pot. Here are a few things you should know if you're considering
a move here...

How to
profit (legally) - right now - in Castro's Cuba - Click
Here - When, in 1991, the Soviet empire collapsed, Cuba lost its sugar
daddy. Soon after, in the midst of a devastating depression, Fidel Castro,
of necessity, opened the door a little to foreign investors and foreign
tourists. And thereby hangs a tale…and an attractive investment opportunity.
