The Magazine about Unique Lifestyles
They are not treated as well as the stray cats in Rome. While no one maltreats them in Casco Viejo, I have not seen dishes of leftovers placed out as I did in Rome. In Casco Viejo, it's every cat for themselves. The Romans feed stray cats because the value of cats has been learned through the centuries. A city full of stray cats is not full of stray rats. Still, a dish of pasta goes good once in awhile. Rats? ...I just had rat for lunch, let's have lasagna for dinner with a red wine. I didn't have any lasagna, so I went to a store and bought sardines for this guy. When I returned he was gone. |
