| The Cheoy Lee Offshore 31
Sloop is an outgrowth of the H-28. The H-28 was originally lengthened,
and the hull kept the hard chin of the early Bermuda 30's. Cheoy Lee eventually
gave the Bermuda 30 a wineglass hull shape. When the offshore design came
to the drawing board, the Bermuda 30 was lengthened one foot. The rudder
was brought inboard and the hull smoothed out and faired. Cheoy Lee offered
the Offshore 31 in the original H-28 / Bermuda 30 ketch rig. However, in
addition to the ketch rig they offered this sloop rig which greatly enhanced
performance as you would expect. In addition, the cockpit actually
became a pleasant place to work the boat and to lounge without the clutter
of the mizzen and it's attendant standing and running rigging. |
