gardens for food growing, passion fruit and kiwi fruit vines throughout,
and most importantly a flying fox and several swings inside. The kitchen
looks out onto the Pacific Ocean (Moana Nui a Kiwa) a mere 30m away and
the shower/washing room, which is 4.8 by 4.8 m2, has a Jasmine plant, hops

Canada
for Brits - Fleeing Britain For Canada - Click
Here - "Canada had always allured us. The thought of
all that space, the huge land mass, the natural resources, the healthy
living, lumberjacks, bear wrestling, canoes, maple syrup and pancakes ....
all the things we had seen on TV and the movies. One could get lost there
- what a wonderful thought. Having a vacation home that could act as a
base camp for exploring North America (or even south), would be fantastic.
And now, with the Internet, and modern communications systems, we could
also operate our business ventures from anywhere on the globe, funding
our dreams as we go."

- Classified Advertisement Section in this issue! - Click
Here - Due to popular demand we are now posting Classified
Advertisements in this and all future issues of Escape From America Magazine.
We wanted to create a low cost way for EscapeArtists to advertise, and
for other EscapeArtists to make contact with their services, products,
ideas, real estate and escape routes. For those of us who spent countless
hours peering through the classified sections of magazines like Mechanics
Illustrated or similar classified sections, a classified section is like
looking through a collectable store for those surprises that make the hunt
a pleasure as great the discovery.

It is a little known fact
that it is
usually possible to make the most
dynamic monetary gains in
dangerous country that is corrupt.
Such hellhole countries are quite
suitable only for the seasoned expat
who is looking for adventure and
high yields. Relative risk is a
function of price, absolute risk is
a primary question. If we choose
such countries, it is best that we
are single, can move fast, and know
at least three of the local dances.
If not, life insurance through a
Swiss Bank could be a definite
asset. Forty million Americans are
murdered, maimed, raped, mugged, or
robbed every year so your chances in
some remote hellhole couldn't be
much worst than living in America,
what stops most people is they think
they know the rules in America. ..we
doubt that. Welcome to Escape From

walk into a lab and ask for
any test that you'd like without a doctor's order, or go into any pharmacy
and buy whatever medication you'd like without a prescription. When your
tests results come back you go and pick them up and show them to your doctor
not, vice versa. Your doctor will have you keep your x-rays, ultra-sounds
etc., they are yours not his and you can do whatever you like with them,
including show them to another doctor. Claire Gray talks about Health Care
in Latin America.
Buy
a Rolls Royce for the price of a Chevy - and other ways to profit from
an international lifestyle - Click
Here - Often a crashing currency also comes attached
with an economic crisis. This creates an even better opportunity. In the
case of my Rolls, I took advantage of an English economic crunch (which
drove the price of luxury cars down and forced many diehard owners to sell),
a weak pound, and a U.S. customs loophole. Three distortion opportunities
like this are the best.So talk to a tax attorney experienced in international
structures, keep and eye on currency fluctuations (right now the Euro is
still relatively weak, although it has moved up in recent weeks, which
helps create European bargains), and look for distortions relating to fun
things you want to be involved in.
Thanks
to the Internet: Fourteen Glorious Days of August in Provence and Corsica
– On $50 a Day! - Click
Here - Paris based expat Adrian Leeds takes a working
holiday, has a perfect vacation, and tells us all about it. "Ménerbes
was made famous by Peter Mayle in his tale titled "A Year in Provence,"
the trials and tribulations of an Englishman and his wife who have set
out to retire to an old stone Provençal home in "peace." Tourists
flock here now, but the charm remains and we lunched on big beautiful salads
in an open terraced restaurant with a view of the surrounding hills and
farms. - - Corsica is a perfect blend of France and Italy. The architecture
is simpler in style as in Italy, but isn't quite as "laisser faire." The
cuisine is a blend of traditional French and pastas and we found the restaurants
to serve a good quality for very reasonable prices, about 25% less expensive
than dining in Paris."
Calling
On Callback - How To Telephone From Anywhere to Everywhere At One-Third
The Cost - Click
Here - As it doesn't cost anything to set up Callback
and it is very easy to set up, you can set it up at no cost, use it for
one call, pay for the one call at a 60% savings over a standard call, and
if you don't like it, never have to use it again. Plus you can try it from
anywhere in the world and call anyone anywhere in the world with the purest
connection at the lowest possible price. It saves me about $2.00 a minute
on most of my calls and ends up costing me about 47 cents a minute for
a call that would ordinarily cost me $2.50 per minute. In one hour
I save $120 and have a bill for just $28.20 for each hour of talk, rather
than $150.00 - A savings of $2,880 per day! No one who
lives overseas should be without callback. Local overseas telephone monopolies
have had an incentive to suppress the knowledge of Callback service but
despite the smokescreen it's legal everywhere in the world but in the Philippines
and Saudi Arabia.

Romania
- Doug Casey Evaluates The Gypsies, Real Estate, Stock Market & Culture
Of Romania - Click
Here - Romania, with brief intervals of respite, has
been a hard luck story for most of its history. Unlike a lot of other countries
of which that's true, I have a good feeling about the place. But most investors
give the country a discount, mainly because they're unfamiliar with it.
And, insofar as they are familiar with it, they've heard mostly dated and
unfavorable things. That's fine. It's why the opportunity exists. - If
anything, property is a better buy than stocks. Bucharest is very cheap
by most standards; I'll guess about 25% of Western European levels for
equivalent buildings. But that's not what got my attention. The fact is
that the country probably has the best farmland in Europe-- flat, deep,
rich topsoil in the Danube basin, combined with a fairly mild climate.
And
Now for Something Completely Different... Freedom Ship - The World’s
Biggest Ship—The World’s Newest Tax Haven? - Click
Here - Mark Nestmann analyzes Freedom Ship's potential
as a tax haven. Freedom Ship International, Inc. (FSI ) plans to offer
the opportunity for an unprecedented lifestyle by constructing a sea-based,
mobile, full-spectrum residential, commercial, and resort community on
a mammoth, mobile, sea platform. The community will travel the entire globe
over a two-year cycle, never leaving international waters. It will spend
only 30% of its time in transit and the other 70% standing offshore points
of interest. A fleet of aircraft and watercraft will ferry people from
ship-to-shore, around-the-clock, residents for touring and business, and
as many as 30,000 onshore guests and visitors daily. What is it's potential
as a tax haven?
Offshore
Business Opportunities You May Have Overlooked - Click
Here - "The greatest level of diversity may only be achieved,
however, through offshore. Investors in some countries may only invest
in what has been approved by government commissions, or in offerings which
fit one of the commission’s exceptions. While the goal of controlling investment
activity was to protect investors, citizens of some countries feel that
heavy regulation is stifling. Individuals are not free to invest as they
please, but are limited to those investments that are approved by the government
agencies. An offshore presence allows investment on a truly limitless basis,
in any type of security in any market around the world." by Philip S.

HR
3886 is Killed - Click
Here - September 18, 2000 WASHINGTON, DC. Dealing a death
blow to HR 3886, legislation which would give the US Treasury power to
cut off offshore banks and nations, the US House Majority Leader opposes
"financial protectionism" aimed at low tax regimes. Rep. DICK ARMEY
says the bill is "against our national interests and would endanger the
economies of other nations." - It comes as a surprise to EscapeArtist that
HR 3886 has been stopped. If a bill were a weapon, HR 3886 would
be a neutron bomb capable of destroying life without harming the real estate.
Editors
Comment - Getting out while the getting is good. - We
had the pleasure of talking recently with a former U.S. congressman.
He confirmed what we have long considered a grave possibility; which is
that the U.S. government might some day move to prevent Americans from
leaving America. He confirmed that there is a good deal of legislation
being considered that would make leaving America with your assets so difficult
as to be impossible. We discussed this in a past issue of Escape
From America Magazine in an article entitled, "Trapped
in America - Jurisdictional Prison - A Virtual Berlin Wall for a Virtual
Age" - We'll try to address the subject again in a coming editon.

Has A New Search Engine - Click
Here - We now have a search engine. Why so long
to build one, you might ask. Our website is a directory with various
categories and a standard search engine would not do. We had to build
a data-base driven search engine that searched by categories and topics.
A fuzzy search engine wouldn't work for our website. We have to enter
each topic into the database by hand. As you might imagine this is one
heck of a job, but we believe the end results are going to very worthwhile.
It's now on our home page only, going through beta testing and being added
to on a daily basis. Try it out, let
us know what you think. Your comments are important to us. We
will begin to add links to exterior websites within the next month or so.
At this point it provides links to our own website only.
