It is no secret
to anyone that the largest segment of The United States population is about
to, trying to, considering, or thinking about their retirements.
It is also
widely known and published in numerous articles that this group is concerned
about their prospects - their choices are dwindling and their hopes and
dreams going up in smoke right before their eyes due to things such as
safety, health, finances, cost of living, hurricanes, floods, earthquakes,
healthcare and yes, added to the list in the past few years, terrorism.
The facts
are out there. Just recently ( January 11th, 2007), part of an article
in the latest McKinsey Report made the following statements:
*McKinsey research
finds that US workers are far more likely to be forced into early retirement
than many of them expect and that many significantly underestimate the
costs they'll face in retirement.
*Almost half
of all pre-retirees expect to work past age 65, yet only 13 percent of
current retirees have done so.
*Health problems
and the loss of jobs are the factors most likely to force people out of
work prematurely.
*Financial
institutions should be doing more to help people prepare for these harsh
realities.
*The harsh
reality is that many do not know what they are going to do and others will
have an unexpected and sudden need to change all that they have worked
and hoped for in their retirement.
Prices
and let us not forget those dreaded taxes in such heavy retirement areas
such as Florida, Nevada , Arizona, Pennsylvania, Vermont etc. have
all but climbed out of reach for many in this group and costs are much
higher than they ever anticipated they would be throughout their years
of planning. Places to go to escape the high costs here in the United States
such as Mexico, Costa Rica, Panama, El Salvador, Belize and Nicaragua are
becoming more expensive as well putting even these places out of the reach
of many, limiting their alternate choices as well to some extent.
With all these
places I mentioned people have been considering I cannot believe there
is not more information out there about Brazil , especially The Northeast
of Brazil. I have been through the area many times during the past few
years and I have noticed the increased about of building.
The economy
is strong , cost of living absolutely fantastic, second only to the wonderful
people there. Many, cities have little or no crime.
Beautiful ocean
side cities offer wonderful housing and welcome tourists and retirees from
the United States. Interesting fact : Live the good life with servants
and all for much less then you would ever expect and not have to give up
any modern conveniences as they have them all.
Another Fact
: No Hurricanes !! Summer like Temperatures Year Round !! Soon to be self
sufficient in Oil !! Pleasant , Quaint, Peaceful existence !
One last fact
: Healthcare affordable and plentiful and good too !!
The downsides
are that some people do have a minor problem with the language...Portuguese
is not as easy to learn as Spanish; flights from the States are long and
can be quite expensive.
I know very
little of the language myself and but this has not caused my too much anguish.
As far as
the cost of flights, when you consider how far you are traveling it is
far less in real terms than many other flights today and once you get to
Brazil the savings to be made in car rentals, food, hotels ,clothing, personal
services, taxes and a host of other things far out weigh the cost of a
ticket usually - around $750.00. Let me add , due to the extremely low
costs in the northeast you can stay two or even three times longer on a
vacation than if you went somewhere else along the Atlantic Ocean.
Now, if it
is this promising a place to take a vacation .. . . how wonderful would
it be if you actually owned a home or condo in Brazil. Very promising is
the answer folks. There are many new developments going up there that were
once offered strictly only to Brazilians and Europeans. Well, that has
all changed now and places are being built for very reasonable prices designed
specifically with Americans in mind and are being marketed here in the
States right this minute.
These places
will no doubt be bought by mostly Americans turning them into small American
Communities within Brazil. How wonderful will that be . . . . people
all around you that speak your language in Brazil !! Aside from this, it
has been my personal experience that most Brazilians will try and communicate
with you in English as they are eager to learn and many invite the experience
in order to practice their English Skills.
Now Americans
can enjoy a good life and existence in Brazil as Europeans and Brazilians
have done for years. The word is out here and you would do well to do your
research now as prices in Brazil are starting to rise as more people discover
the wonders of this country and its northeast. Who knows in a few years
you may have to add even Brazil to that list of options you once had but
that are now out of your reach.
With the influx
of Brazilians looking for better employment here in the United States like
many others from overseas, more Americans are exposed to and becoming friendly
with Brazilian people here and learning their ways and their culture and
finding out how very inexpensive it is to live a good life there . They
are finding out first hand how wonderful and friendly the Brazilian people
are.
Many Brazilians
come to the US for work ,some for school , some for business and others
for change and yes a better life then they are able to have in Brazil for
themselves and their Families. As a retiree living there on a fixed income
from outside Brazil, most Americans can live an extremely comfortable life.
as man . Although the local Brazilians appear to struggle in their now
country to have a basic life, they don't appear to be jealous of ex-*pats
who are more comfortably off. I do not want to imply in any way that all
Brazilians have been dealt this fate. Many of them are doing quite well
right in Brazil as I am sure you know and have no work related or financial
reasons to leave. I for one appreciate the ones that have come over to
the States as they are friends and good business associates now and a pleasure
to deal with as well - very hardworking ,good , honest, and proud people.
So to all of
you out there - don't despair . All hope is not lost . Simply look towards
Brazil to have those dreams become a wonderful reality.
Have a Great
Day and an Even Better Future . Hopefully in Brazil ! At least consider
Brazil a very good option for many of you. I know I have done so already
and making my plans to Escape.

to help and tell you of my personal experiences there.
