In
the past 4 year I have been dealing with foreigners from all over the world
that have been purchasing land and buying businesses in the coastal area
of Ecuador, this experience has been very rewarding for me in all aspects:
cultural, intellectual and financial , but here comes the best part, it
has been rewarding for foreigners, too. In other words, it has worked
out both ways, everybody wins!! And that is what I have learned and experienced.
Of course 4
years ago was the best time to purchase, since Ecuador was going thru the
worst of financial times as many people found their savings frozen in banks
and then desperate for money. During this time of crisis, I remember how

of good investments with a good returns
When I need
to give a fast description to anyone about Ecuador I always compare it
with the TV series, Fantasy Island, "where your dreams may come true",
and yes here in Ecuador you can buy and get what in other places of the
world would be only possible for millionaires or billionaires. I will write
down some numbers that will give you a better idea of what can be found
in Ecuador's real estate market. For example, a recent pruchase of 2000
acres - this land had it all, mountian, river, shrimp farm pool, cattlling
area, beach front, a house - all for $600,000 and with a annual tax of
$500.
You can have
a servant (maid) for $200 a month as well a chofer for the same salary
or a little bit more. In remote beach areas you will still find beachfront
for $15,000 to $20,000 dollar
