Great article on living in Mexico and going to school. A great school that is accredited in the USA is The American School Foundation, in Mexico City and Guadalajara. Children from all walks of life and nationality attend. It is a private school.

After reading the article on CEO's opinions of foreign workers, a corollary to this struck me. The halls of our government are filled with people from the ranks of the business community, and that same attitude of of superiority pervades our foreign policy. America always knows best, in Europe, in the Mid-East, in Africa, in Asia.....Hopefully, as the perceptions change in the business community, that change will be reflected in our government and in our foreign policy.

While I hope Jeff Clark is correct (EFAM Aug08, I fear we may have to wait much longer for the gold mania stage. So much damage has been done to the price of gold even as physical supplies are extremely hard to come by it makes one wonder. It seems that the ''powers that be'' are in control of this market and I will believe the mania is here when I see it (Not when gold is trading at $777 as it is as I write this.) Thanks for the article.

In the article "Business and Living In Paraguay" in the August issue, the author makes a serious historical error. This was of the Triple Alliance in the nineteenth century, one of the bloodiest wars in the Americas, was NOT over the Chaco region or over its oil reserves, but in fact resulted from imperialist ambitions of the then dictator of Paraguay, who provoked conflicts with Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay to expand his territory and become the Napoleon of South America. It did NOT involve the Chaco region. The War over the Chaco did not occur until over 60 years later- in the 1930s, and that was between Paraguay and Bolivia. The other countries mentioned had no part in it. Indeed, why would a country fight over petroleum reserves in the 19th century, as the auto had yet to be invented at the time of the war? Other than that major flaw, congratulations on finally writing about Paraguay as a relocation destination!
