Perhaps you are fed up with your 9 to 5 regime; perhaps you are a writer needing a new perspective . . . perhaps, like so many, you are intoxicated by the myth of writing in Paris (have read A Moveable Feast, dreamt of Sartre in Les Deux Magots, been haunted by the Beatniks' or Henry Miller's immortalized adventures) and are interested in discovering what such a life is all about. For whatever reason, you are ready to make Paris your home and haven for new words. KNOW IT IS POSSIBLE.
This guide will set you off on the right footing by bringing to your attention all the international and French resources available to writers in Paris which might otherwise take you many pains and hours of research to locate. The guide also directs you toward the active community of writers currently located in Paris: i.e. the journals, bookstores, cafes, and soirées where you can seek support, listeners, and public outlets for your work.

Elizabeth Reichert writes from her own personal experience as a freelance journalist and fiction writer, nonetheless including resources for all types of wordsmiths from poets to playwrights. The guide is intended for the expatriate community and many resources are therefore linked back to Anglophone soil or to companies' affiliate Paris offices where there is a greater chance for English speakers to develop writing relationships with magazines, newspapers, and publishing houses. Informational resources located on the Internet are hyperlinked throughout the guide and because the community here in Paris is a transient arena, the guide is regularly updated, insuring the information remains accurate.
Throughout the guide you will find other writers' stories -- those published or just beginning -- proof that the dream of writing in Paris is possible. If you are already itching with the idea of writing in Paris, then all you need is a little know-how found here in this guide, so don't waste anymore time! Start making your dream of writing in Paris a reality!

Electronic guides offer many advantages over traditionally printed guides –
Guides are written by Paris-based American journalists and writers who know what information you're looking for and know how to find it, from the inside. Guides are updated regularly, so it is impossible to get such up-to-date information anywhere else. Printed books take at least 6 months to reach the bookstore shelf! Order the electronic downloaded version of the guides and read about Paris moments after! No need to wait for your order to be mailed, and no trip to the bookstore.
