Lightning Doesn’t Strike in the Same Place Twice… but Maybe Over 30,000 Times!

Andhra Pradesh, a state in southern India, is used to lightning strikes during heavy monsoon rains. The number of lightning strikes went above and beyond this week, however. On Tuesday, the Indian state was reportedly hit 36,749 times in just a 13-hour period. This unusual weather is responsible for nine fatalities.

The amount of lightning isn’t the only abnormality. Monsoon season usually begins in June and lasts through September, but this year the storms have begun earlier. This is due to cold winds sweeping in from the Arabian sea colliding with warmer winds from Northern India. This has caused early storms and the increased amount of lightning.

While the fatalities caused by the lightning strikes may sound strange, it’s not an uncommon occurrence. In June of 2016, 93 people in the region lost their lives due to lightning strikes. That’s shocking compared to the 27 average deaths in the U.S. each year!

To keep yourself safe during a lightning storm, it is advised to seek shelter in a car or building, stay away from hilltops, and do not seek shelter beneath tall and isolated trees.

Taking Paint-and-Sips to a New Level

If you like art and being on the water, there may be a new kind of vacation for you. Uniworld Boutique River Cruise Consumer Resource Guidecollection, along with other river cruise lines, are developing a new kind of cruise experience where attendees will be able to take part in art workshops while on board.

Uniworld will be hosting nine departures this year with various mediums to choose from and different instructors on the boat. One departure will focus on charcoal drawing and brush sketching, while another is similar to paint-and-wine “sip” events that have become very popular.

Classes and materials are included in the cost of the cruise, but class sizes may be limited. While creating beautiful pieces of art, vacationers will explore the beautiful sights of Italy, Switzerland, Amsterdam, and more!

Traveling Post-Brexit

As Britain’s exit from the UN nears, it’s time to start thinking about what travel will look like. Because the UK is part of the EU, it is pretty easy to travel between the UK and other European Union countries with budget airlines. Travelers may see new rules in place and prices may not be ideal.

For EU citizens, it may be especially difficult because Brits may no longer be able to travel freely throughout Europe anymore. No formal rules are in place just yet, but it’s definitely going to be a topic of discussion within the next few weeks.

Other concerns include the price of travel increasing as the euro fluctuates and what Brexit may do to customs lines. Americans and EU travelers may soon be in one line, as opposed to the current situation where Europeans could bypass the U.S. citizens while entering Britain.

As you well know, all citizenship programs have particular qualifications and certain things that can disqualify you from gaining documentation. For most citizenship by investment programs (CIP), there are minimum qualifying investments that must be made, and they must be made in the approved ways – using the approved investment vehicles. There can be a lot of red tape with many of these programs, so it always comes down to…

Mexico is a difficult country to pinpoint when it comes to its stance on virtual currencies, blockchain, and financial technology in general. After many months in Congress, the Fintech Law just passed, giving cryptocurrencies a regulatory framework to work from.

This landmark achievement will, without a doubt, help Mexico’s economy grow, as there’s a lot of potential to be explored. Only 56% of the Mexican population has a bank account. This is due in part to…
