Two
things have ushered us into a world without borders... the end of the cold
war and the advent of the world wide web of global communications &
commerce. Today it doesn't make a great deal of
difference where in the world we are located, we can carry on some types
of commerce from anywhere; from an island in the middle of the Caribbean
to a sheep ranch in the the Australian outback. A game of global musical
chairs has begun, and we are now changing places with people willing to
go to America or the UK to work for a wage we no longer consider attractive,
while we begin to move further afield in search of greener pastures. Many
of us are now looking for what might be called a 'life.'

South
America Index: Living & Investing In South America
- Expat investment & relocation opportunities — quality of life and
real estate values! These things are greater in Latin America as a whole;
especially in the Southern Cone area of South America - - more so
than it is in any other section of the world. In terms of expat-relocation
lifestyle, we cannot think of any place where the opportunities are so
tremendously exciting for expatriate living. There's more agricultural
land in Argentina than all of Europe. Every mineral, every weather pattern...
then there's Brazil; Chile, and a score of other nations. South America
is an excellent choice for a home away from home. Living & Investing
In South America was the first directory we developed and we've been going
back through it and updating the links and resources for over ten years.
One of our first articles was about beach
front condos in Rio de Janeiro for $21,000. We
try to keep our website user friendly and resource rich. It is a fairly
complete directory of South America. This directory and its nations now
include real estate in South America, relocation & investment guides
for South America, and a wide range of resources for moving to and living
in South America. We will soon have a newsletter about living in Brazil.

The
Caribbean: Living & Investing In The Caribbean
- With lush, green mountains …long beaches with turquoise waters …and lively
little towns in between, the Dominican Republic is one of our favorite
Caribbean Hideaways - When Columbus spotted the coral-rimmed Dominican
Republic, he proclaimed, “This is the fairest land under Heaven.” We have
to agree. The Dominican Republic is home to the highest mountain range
in the entire Caribbean and offers some of the most beautiful beaches in
the world. Yet it may be the least-expensive island in the Caribbean when
it comes to real estate and cost of living. The northern coast of the DR
has long been the most popular spot on the island for tourists, as well
as for foreigners looking to buy property. Visitors to this area usually
fly into the international airport at Puerto Plata. The town itself, which
owes its name (“silver port” in English) to Christopher Columbus (who discovered
the island in 1492), is crowded and bustling.Motorbikes are ubiquitous,
darting in and out and around. - - The Island Of Dominica Is Encouraging
Investment . . . But Not at Any Price - Dominica’s towering central mountain
range, expanses of forest, waterfalls and offshore reefs have together
earned it the name “Nature Island of the Caribbean.”

Europe:
Living & Investing In Europe - If one
reads literature, one gets the impression that in the 1920's Spain, Germany,
Greece, Italy & France were the most common destination of expats -
- Then after the 2nd World War we are told that it remained much the same,
but began to encompass the Balearic Islands, then Tangiers. Everything
changed with the end of the cold war -- the half of Europe that had been
behind the so-called Iron Curtain opened up, and the race was on.
Which spot provides the most ambiance at the least expense, which spots
appealed to 'super stars' and rock stars, which were best suited as retirement
havens? Europe has a lot to offer. More culture, with a greater degree
of diversity than any other region of the world. What you pay for what
you get requires much consideration, but what you get is unbeatable.

Pacific
Isands: Living In Australia, New Zealand & The Pacific Isands
- Includes almost two dozen islands of the Pacific. One of our early
directories; the Pacific Islands did not prove as popular as we originally
expected; yet the Pacific Islands have much to offer the romantic expatriate
seeking a Joseph Conrad lifestyle. We have number of articles on
living in the Pacific Islands and we have real estate listing for the Pacific
Islands. The issue is land mass. While many of the Pacific
Islands are excellent places to live; there isn't a surplus of land; and
there isn't a surplus of infrastructure. The day is coming when inter-connectivity
will be universal, and then those who had the forethought to relocate to
some island in the Pacific will be in the right place at the right time.

Balkans
& Central Europe: Living In Central Europe & The Balkans
- There are places in this world almost too good to write about. Like precious
jewels, unpolished and raw they sit proudly in the quiet knowledge of their
own self-worth without needing to blow their own trumpet. With a surface
of only 13 800 Km2 and a population of 600 000, Crna Gora, as the locals
call her (meaning Black Mountain) is the size of a postage stamp. And yet,
this UNESCO protected nature lover’s paradise packs plenty of punch. Diverse
landscapes, rugged terrain, dramatic gorges, spectacular rivers, striking
fjords and a picture postcard coastline. There are 250km of beach (pebbles
and sand), National parks and ski resorts, all complimented by the turquoise
hue of the Adriatic Sea. The average temperature is 25°C in summer,
with 230 days of sunshine per year. - Information has been coming in for
some time from expats living in Central Europe and the Balkans. We
have directories for this region. This region has tremendous potential
as a place to live and especially as a unique place to buy real estate
and do business, despite its recent history. Plenty of rich farm
land, the Dalmatian Coast of Croatia, the good wines of Bulgaria and Romania.
It's a wide open market, no longer hazardous, and with a great deal of
upwards potential.

Canada:
Living & Investing In Canada - Moving
To Canada - Making A Plan - By now you may feel you know Canada well,
from surfing the internet, or from travel books and news items you’ve read.
You’ve applied for your Permanent Resident (PR) visa and know it could
take up to 2 years to receive it. You’ve been waiting what seems like an
eternity and you don’t feel like waiting any longer. So you’ve decided
to throw caution to the wind and leave early to start your new life in
Canada. If this sounds like a plan you’re making, then you’re not alone.
It would appear there is a strong desire and a growing trend among people
who have submitted their visa applications, to get to Canada as soon as
possible, even if they do not have their PR visa in hand. Although the
excitement of making your move, up to six months earlier than anticipated,
can be a strong motivator to sell all your worldly goods and go, making
your move prematurely could potentially be a costly mistake. - moving
to Canada, that spectacular nation of wilderness and culture on the far
side of the United States, separated from the rest of the free world by
a thuggery of gun-toting evangelical bullet-heads and the Patriot Act.
Join the ExPatriot Act, move to Canada and leave those UZI's in the classroom,
drive-by shooting nightmares behind - - please wipe your feet when you
come over.

- Investing In Turkey ~ Incentives, Conditions, Getting Started -
Ever thought of investing in Turkey? This ancient land of stunning natural
beauty and abundant resources is now actively trying to revive its historic
role as the commercial link between east and west.Besides its choice geographical
placement, Turkey seems to have it all: a rich agricultural heartland,
heavy industry, huge stretches of coastline on three different seas, as
well as great tourism potential, not to mention a very favorable relationship
with the United States. Our recently updated
country resource pages include real estate and resource information for
an area as old as the pyramids of Egypt, and as new as the high-rises of
Dubai. Dubai is an Islamic state that is open to the modern world.
From what I know of Dubai it is a playground for the rich from the more
conservative states in the Islamic world. What can't be done at home can
be done in Dubai. That would make it something like what Lebanon was to
the Islamic world in the 1950s and 60s. Lebanon in the 1950s and 60s was
suppose to have been one of the places in the world where the partying
was always at fever pitch. Learn about the thriving tourism industry of
Jordan, visit the Jewish, Christian, Armenian and Muslim Quarters of Jerusalem

Lending Policies Improve Cash Flow Houses - Can anyone see the forest through

is available in the way of mortgages, the housing market improves.
It’s that simple. Contrarily, when it’s not available, the market
contracts and prices remain stagnant, and even worse decline.

List
Of Offshore Banks -
An offshore bank is defined by its location, or 'jurisdiction'. An offshore
bank is usually located outside of the depositors country of residence,
typically within a jurisdiction that levies very low taxes, or no taxes
at all. Each jurisdiction varies in its degree of taxation, its degree
of privacy, and its services. Offshore banks located in politically and
economically stable jurisdictions provide a safe-haven for assets that
may be at risk in the nation in which the investor lives and holds residency.
