Real Estate In Bali - Island Of The Gods - Buying
Real Estate In Bali - Escape
from America was a dream of mine for many years prior to moving to Bali,
like most Americans I was sick and tired of working for the United States
Government, still under the illusion that I actually worked for myself.
We left the east coast of America and made our escape to Bali in June 1998,
selling our home, furniture, automobile and dissolving our construction
business. Looking back it’s hard to believe that we actually moved lock,
stock and barrel to the other side of the world, taking our daughter Bridget,
who was 3, and our son Brandon who was only 2 months old at that time,
keep in mind that I had no job waiting for me, and didn’t speak the language.
My family and friends thought I was crazy, they all said “ what will you
do for work, where are you going to live, what about your children, will
it be safe, can you adapt…………now I know who’s really crazy, it’s my family
and friends who still believe that America is the promise land, (the government
promises, and promises, and promises). By David Leger -
Nomadic Housing For Expatriates - Designing
A Shipping Container As Nomadic Housing - Global Nomadic
Housing for expats? Why not? Design your living space &
workshop and take it with you... Maverick designer Colin Reedy
tells us how. In this the second part of this innovative concept Colin
provides drawings of what a shipping container can be turned into.
The finished product is amazing! You can use this concept to turn
a shipping container into a portable dwelling that you can cheaply ship
anywhere in the world. It's sort of like global backpacking with
your own house. Colin provides details on how to build one yourself.
This series originally appeared almost two years ago in Escape From America
Magazine. It engendered thousands of letters to the editor, a couple
of spin-off articles by others who were living in Container Housing, and
some like articles in other magazines. It's one of our favorite articles.
in Cuba - Why Cuba? [An EscapeArtist Exclusive] - Cuban
Capitalism - A Chapter From The Book by Louis Sola - Conditions
for living and investing in Cuba are improving rapidly. There is very little
information available on changing conditions in Cuba, especially in the
investment sector. It is clear that much of the 'misinformation'
is the result of polarized political positions. No matter the side of the
embargo / political debate on which one stands, the unilateral suppression
of information by every side acts to cloud the real truths and to encourage
misinformation. I see it as an opportunity and a privilege to report the
facts as they are without any bias to any side. Cuba is an important emerging
market, offering good potential for exporters and investors in a number
of highly sought-after sectors. The nation benefits from an extensive
industrial infrastructure and a well-trained labor force, but at the same
time it suffers from serious inefficiencies caused by long-standing central
planning, outdated and inappropriate technology and poorly-motivated workers.
This creates many needs for the products and know-how that foreign companies
can provide. The Financial Times quotes Louis Sola,
considered to be the worlds foremost authority on investing in Cuba.

At Chile As A Place To Live & Invest - Living
In Chile - Investing In Chile - From the Best of Doug Casey series,
an article on Chile. ~ "Buy real estate. When I visited Chile in 1980,
1 spent some time with a wealthy local at his house in one of Santiago's
most fashionable suburbs. The house was typical of those owned by the upper
classes in a Third World country; large, lots of handcarved fittings and
furniture, swimming pool, tennis court, extensive landscaping, etc. At
the time, it was worth about $25,000; today it's worth well over $1,000,000."
Real Estate In Vanuatu - Ultra
Low Priced Real Estate In The Tropical Tax-Haven Of Vanuatu - this
place is magic as there is no tax whatsoever and the entreuprenerial Vanuatu
Government leave us totally alone! I cannot recall a situation in my entire
life where I have felt so relaxed and at peace with things. Our second
article on Vanuatu in less than a year. Is there something about the place
we should know about?
Properties: Exotic and a Bargain - Real
Estate in Cape Town - I've come to the conclusion that property
in South Africa is now among the best bargains in the world, in both absolute
and relative terms. On this trip, I stuck to Jo'berg and the Cape; it's
a big country and I simply put myself in the hands of my fairly numerous
South African relatives. I can't make any recommendations on Jo'burg property
because although it's cheap, I can't see the opportunity, and have no personal
interest in it. That's not to say parts of Jo'berg aren't quite nice. -

Volume Three - Issue Number Two issue of Escape From America Magazine.
Buying an Apartment in Paris the Right Decision for You? -
at the pros and cons of owning an apartment in Paris - A
real estate has been cheaper than New York real estate for a number of
years now. At present, this is clearly the case, due to the lower prices
per square meter in Paris compared to New York, and the extremely favorable
US dollar/French Franc exchange rate. In the better areas in Paris (4th,
5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 16th, 17th arrondissements) you could find a one-bedroom
apartment in a fairly upscale nice building for $200,000. By Glenn Cooper
Solarte in the Bocas Del Toro Archipelago -
Sailing, Zodiac Jamming -
Everyone in the Bocas Del Toro Archipelago seems to own a boat. In
fact you can live in Bocas without a car, but everyone wants a boat.
Water taxis abound, but it's more fun to jump in the family zodiac and
go shopping, diving, surfing, fishing, or just island hopping. The
extraordinary calm and protected waters of the Archipelago mean that one
can go on the water 365 days a year. No hurricanes or inclement weather,
and an endless archipelago that is an ecological paradise. Find

New Super Port - Opportunities In Latin America To The World - When
I was first asked to undertake the financial structuring of the billion
dollar Central Multi Modal and Services Park of the Americas (CEMIS) in
Panama, I immediately saw something much greater than a real estate development,
I saw the last piece of the 20 billion dollar a year puzzle. The CEMIS
is the perfect location for a multitude of companies and services that
wish to reach out to Latin America and the world. The next major step is
the development that will be handled individually by a multitude of developers.
There are still many opportunities for developers and investors. Dr.

a New Country - Creating A New Country - MicroNations & Principalities
Countries With New Concepts - Why not start a new country? One
just like you want. The idea isn't so far-fetched is it? Well, a
group of people have been trying to start one for three decades. In fact
several attempts have been made.
Q: Why hasn't it happened?
The folks trying to start one have all been Libertarians. A Libertarian,
in case you don't know, is someone who thinks and talks but never acts.
(Sorry fellows.... just stating the obvious.) But the concept
is a sound one. With a new country there would be the possibility of freedom
from taxes, freedom of thought, respect for the individual over the group
and so forth. ~ What's cooking? Undersea Cities, Cities on Islands, Boats
that float with cities on them. There are several projects now under way
and lot's of speculation. Some thinktanks are doing some serious thinking
about it. ...and there are interesting articles about projects and places,
...and even some tidbits of hope. ~ more

Now for Something Completely Different... Freedom Ship - The World’s
Biggest Ship—The World’s Newest Tax Haven? -
Mark Nestmann analyzes Freedom Ship's potential as a tax haven. Freedom
Ship International, Inc. (FSI ) plans to offer the opportunity for an unprecedented
lifestyle by constructing a sea-based, mobile, full-spectrum residential,
commercial, and resort community on a mammoth, mobile, sea platform. The
community will travel the entire globe over a two-year cycle, never leaving
international waters. It will spend only 30% of its time in transit and
the other 70% standing offshore points of interest. A fleet of aircraft
and watercraft will ferry people from ship-to-shore, around-the-clock,
residents for touring and business, and as many as 30,000 onshore guests
and visitors daily. What is it's potential as a tax haven?
Ship Is Not About Freedom; or, How To Live On A Floating Police State -
Ship! - A Criticism -
The name grabs you and makes you want to learn more, especially if you
dream of freedom, traveling and the high seas. The web site beckons
with promises of leaving it all behind and living in freedom, in your very
own condominium, on a ship so stable that you won’t even get seasick.
But is it really as free as they say? We are all used to media hype,
and in this short article I would like to dig beneath the decks a little
and see what the bulkheads look like.
