It
is common knowledge what George W. Bush did to the environment in the United
States. He turned back all the progress that had been made in
the previous 15 years. It is no secret that the US is now running
out of water. Rather than addressing the issue, the Bush administration
did all they could to ignore the issue and filter billions of dollars into
a useless war. The Governor of Alto Paraguay, has admitted that George
Bush owns land in the Chaco region of Paraguay, in Paso de Patria. The
Bush family owns 70 thousand hectares (173,000 acres) that is part of an
ecological water reserve. This land was purchased by Bush daughter Jenna
Bush on Saturday, October 7, 2006 while on a so-called private visit to
Paraguay with Unicef. It is now rumored that Bush will not be tried
for war crimes, nor will he be held responsible for the ecological vandalism
for which he is responsible. No worry, while Americans run out of
water, the Bush family will have plenty in their Paraguay 'safe-haven'.
That the Bush family and their ilk should make inroads abroad and have
a safe-haven from the disaster they themselves created is a travesty. If
the US Government no longer has the will to arrest war criminals on their
home ground perhaps they should suffer citizens arrest abroad. A criminal
is a criminal no matter their standing.

Connecticut all the way to the southernmost city in the world – Ushuaia,
Argentina, passing through some of the world’s most beautiful scenery on
some of the world’s worst maintained and most dangerous roads. He ended
his twelve-country odyssey in Paraguay, where he sold his car and flew
home to the USA, forever changed by his life on the road during what was
a truly remarkable undertaking. While a full recounting of his journey
would require many volumes, the author has agreed to provide us with glimpses
and insight into what he experienced. This is the last in a series of five
